40th GI/ITG International Conference on Architecture of Computing Systems

ARCS Research Group Forum

For 40 years, the GI/ITG International Conference on Architecture of Computing Systems (ARCS) has been a venue for leading-edge research in computer architecture and operating systems. The focus of ARCS 2027 is "Unconventional Computing: Beyond von Neumann Computing“.

Alongside the main conference, ARCS hosts the Research Group Forum, a dedicated venue for collaborative research projects and research groups. We invite national, European, and international projects – for example those funded by DFG, BMFTR, the EU (Horizon Europe, EuroHPC), or industrial consortia – to present their goals, approaches, and results at any stage: projects that have just started are as welcome as projects that are about to conclude.

The forum has three goals: to make ongoing projects visible to the ARCS community, to initiate collaboration between projects working on related problems, and to promote the sustainable use of project results beyond the funding period, for instance through open-source software, open hardware, datasets, or benchmarks.

What a Group Forum Paper Should Contain

In contrast to the main track, a Group Forum paper is not expected to present a single, fully evaluated research contribution. Instead, it should give the community a concise overview of the project. A good paper describes the project's motivation and objectives, the consortium and its duration, the technical approach and overall architecture, the current status and results achieved so far, and the artifacts that are or will be publicly available. We explicitly encourage authors to close with the open challenges of the project and the kinds of collaboration they are seeking.

Submission Guidelines and Important Dates

All submission details incl. the page length and deadlines can be found in the Submission Guidelines.

Because Group Forum papers present specific projects, they are not anonymized: authors should state project names, affiliations, and funding sources.
